Nightjar Festival

Step inside the wonderland that is this year’s Nightjar Festival! Immerse yourself in a magical atmosphere of music, roving performances, buskers and culinary delights from around the world.
Nightjar fuses the idea of a traditional night market with a music festival and food and wine extravaganza, celebrating the arts, food and entertainment within the beautiful natural setting of Johnstone Park, Geelong.

Geelong's Best Busker 2020
When: Various dates from 11 February 2020 to 21 February 2020
Where: Little Malop Street, Geelong between Moorabool and Yarra Streets
This February, Little Malop Central sees the return of the Geelong’s Best Busker competition with a number of live performances by local unsigned artists showcasing their talents.
Now in its fifth year, Geelong’s Best Busker competition provides the perfect platform for unsigned artists to showcase their talents to a previously untapped regional audience, as well as providing a key stepping stone for their career development.
Performers are all vying for the chance to take out the title of Geelong’s Best Busker through a series of heats and a finals showdown.
Heats will be conducted during February on the 11th, 14th and 18th, with finals on Friday February 21st, 2020.
Outdoor activities are subject to change and suitable weather conditions.

Torquay Rotary Motor Show
When: Sunday 9 February 2020, 8am–3pm
Where: Torquay Elephant Walk, The Esplanade
Surf beaches, large grassed areas, shady trees, restaurants, shopping and the celebrated Torquay Rotary Motor Show — a great family event not to be missed!
This year will mark the 13th annual classic car show, which is held on Torquay’s magnificent Elephant Walk Esplanade.
Many attractions will be available to entertain attendees, plus food, good coffee, refreshments and memorabilia on sale.

Dig Deep For Fire Relief
When: 16 February 2pm – 9pm
Where: Sphinx Hotel, 2 Thompson Road, North Geelong 3215
An evening of raffles, auctions, sausage sizzles and venue wide live performances on three different stages, all in aid of supporting those affected by the horrific bush fires that continue to rage on across Australia.
All profits made on the day will be donated to the Bendigo Bank Fire Relief Fund.

Ironman Kids Geelong

Have you got kids aged 5–13? Are they competitive creatures who never run out of energy?
Well, they may be interested in becoming an IRONKIDS Champion on Saturday 22 February, when they complete the kids only version of the IRONMAN 70.3 in Geelong.
Each finisher will receive a medal and IRONKIDS t-shirt, and will go into the random prize draw which takes place afterwards.
IRONKIDS can do the Triathlon by themselves, or get the whole family involved with the IRONKIDS Family Wave. Don’t have a bike or don’t enjoy swimming? No worries — they can join the run only IRONKIDS.
With an emphasis on safety, fitness, and fun, it’s a great day out for the whole family.

Mardi Gras Street Music Festival
When: 23 February 2020, 12pm – 8pm
Where: 93 Lt Malop Street, Geelong, VIC 3220
The third annual Mardi Gras Street Music Festival is a New Orleans inspired music festival and celebrating the traditional Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) festival.
The Festival is a free, community-based event. With a line up of 7 bands all bringing the sounds of New Orleans to the streets of Geelong, it will be a fun-packed afternoon that you won’t want to miss out on.
Food and beverages will be available from the wonderful selection of eateries and bars in the Lt Malop St precinct.
Feel free to bring your own chairs, as there will be limited seating available.

Shelford Duck Race & Family Day
When: Sunday 23 February 2020, 11am – 4pm
Where: Shelford Recreation Reserve, The Parade Road, Shelford, VIC 3329
Approximately 1000 yellow plastic ducks are released into the Leigh River to float down to the finishing line at the bridge.
Although the Duck Race is the main event of the day it is not the only highlight of the day. With musical entertainment, food vans, amusements, displays, market stalls and the show ‘n’ shine, there are plenty of things to see and do.
The adoptive ‘parent’ of the first duck across the line will receive a Coles-Myer Voucher to the value of $1,000, second $500, third $250, 4th $150.
